As September is coming to a close and the fall season is now here, I wanted to post My Top 5 September Fall Favorite Lip Looks. I’ve started incorporating more bold lip colors as well as comfortable lip shades for the season change. It’s that time of year for me when my lips get chapped a little easier, so I really like using hydrating formulas. Let’s jump right in and go over some of my top picks.
Look One
I just love this soft brown lipstick look; it’ is’s such a perfect shade for fall. The lip liner was such a close-to-perfect match to the lipstick as well. The product I used was the Jones Road Lip Pencil in the shade Rosewood. I just received their new lip liners recently in PR and was so excited to try them out, as I really love all the Jones Road products I’ve tried out so far.
I just love a good lip liner to get a nice clean edge before lipstick. This lip liner went on so smoothly, with great pigmentation and color payoff. After lining the lips, I then went in with the Too Faced chocolate chip lipstick, which had a pretty demi-matte finish and creamy texture on the lips. This one is scented, with a smell that is similar to chocolate, which I enjoy. However I know not everyone likes scented products, so I figured this is worth noting.
Look Two
This lipstick has become a staple in my everyday looks lately. It has a balm-like texture and subtlety that make it perfect for this time of year. My lips always get a little chapped with the changing seasons so I just love something with comfortable wear. The Clinique Almost Lipstick in shade Black Honey, is simply a gorgeous shade. The color payoff is very soft and light, adding a beautiful reddish flush to the lips. I read that this is also the lip product supposedly applied to Arwen in the Lord of The Rings Films, which is really cool.
Look Three
The Maybelline Vinyl Ink has been one of my favorite lipsticks of mine this year; I absolutely love the formula. I have a whole other blog post dedicated to my other favorite lipstick shades from the line. Recently, I purchased a couple other colors with fall tones in mind. One of those shades 125 Keen, as shown above. It has an orange-peachy-red kind of shade, which is perfect for fall, reminiscent of the colors of fall foliage. Moreover, It boasts a long-wearing formula, which is great you really don’t have to worry about re-applying throughout the day. This one has like a glossy or satin finish even when dried down.
Look Four
This is a very vampy lipstick shade look. I applied some deep burgundy lipstick shades on the edges and feathered them towards the center. Then, I filled in and blended out the center with a soft pink shade featuring a glossy-like formula to give the lips look plump appearance.
To begin, I lined my lips with Nova Beauty lip liner in the shade brown 02, which is incredibly creamy and easy to blend. Next, I followed the lip edges and applied Haus Labs Le Monster lip crayon in shade mahogany matte, extending it about half way towards the center. I blended this color towards the center with feathering like motions, using a Morphe H2 brush, and further blending with my finger, ensuring that the center remained blank as possible for our next shade.
Finally, I applied Avon Lip butter in shade flirtatious, which has a wonderfully hydrating formula. This shade is somewhat sheer but makes the look comfortable. I adore darker colors like these for the fall season and soft glam looks with warm undertones on the eyes.
Look Five
For another ombre look I’ve been loving this month, I created this soft nude ombre lipstick style. First, I lined my lips with the NYX Lip Liner Cappuccino Liner, and then, similar to our previous look, I applied Laura Mercier Rouge Essential 85 Brun Naturel. extending it halfway towards the center. Next, I softly blended it toward the center using my finger to eliminate any harsh edges. Finally, I applyied Ofra Cosmetics Rodeo Drive Lip Gloss to just the center of my lips and gave it one last blend with my finger.
That concludes my My Top 5 September Fall Favorite Lip Looks. I’m eagerly anticipating creating more darker lip looks for the fall season, perhaps experimenting with some darker hues like, deep purples, and deep reds. Typically I prefer long-wear liquid lipstick when opting for bold color to prevent smudging, as darker shades are much more noticeable when they shift. However, as I mentioned earlier, I often struggle with dry lips during this time of year. So, sometimes, wearing a liquid matte formula doesn’t always appear the most flattering.
To combat dry lips, I make sure to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. It can be challenging here in New England, especially when it’s cold, as drinking cold water can make you feel colder. If you live in a warmer climate, you might not know what I mean- lol. Feel free to leave me a comment down below with some of your favorite fall lipsticks; I’d love to try out some new products and colors.
I’ll have to follow up with an October favorites list, featuring even more of my favorite best fall lipstick colors. One shade that might make it onto my list again for October is last year’s fall favorite: The Patrick Ta She Must Be New Lipstick, a deep red shade. It truly is such a stand out beautiful shade.
