VALENTINES DAY EYESHADOW
Whether you’re celebrating Valentine’s Day or Galentines day, it’s fun to get dressed up and glam for any occasion. I always love an excuse to get dressed up and do a fun makeup look, and choosing a makeup look for the occasion can be the best part! You can really get creative and plan your look around a theme like pink/red, your outfit, or whatever your plans may be. For this look, I decided to create a sultry eyeshadow look utilizing some pinks and reds and smoking these out with some black eyeliner. It’s perfect for a Valentines Day Eyeshadow look. It really makes the eyes stand out and look stunning, it’s also fairly simple to recreate, and I’ve included a video tutorial to follow along with. I’ve listed all the products used below, let’s jump right in.
HOW TO APPLY
Step 1: First, prep the eyes with a bit of concealer as a base to even out skin tones and for something for the eyeshadow to adhere to. I’m using the Natasha Denona Hy-Glam Concealer*. Apply a few small dots of this to the eyelids and gently blend it out evenly all over the lid, then set lightly with a fluffy brush and a translucent setting powder.
Step 2: Today I’m using the Huda Beauty Rose Quartz Palette*. I love this whole palette for Valentine’s Day; it has some lovely pink eyeshadow shades in matte and shimmers. For this look, I’m first dipping into the color gratitude with Morphe V206 brush* apply this into the outer corner of the eye, softly blending the edges and creating a V-like shape following the contours of the eyes.
Step 3: With a Morphe H1 Brush*(no longer available, any flat shader will work), I’m next dipping into the color Joy, applying this all over the remaining portion of the lid. Using a light hand on the edges to softly feather out the edges into the crease and shade we applied in the outer corner.
Step 4: Grabbing the Morphe H1 Brush* once again, use the shade Cherished and apply this into the inner corner, sweeping inwards on the upper and lower lash line. Using a light hand on the edges to feather everything out so there are no harsh lines.
Step 5: Dip into shade Aura apply a little more depth into the outer corner with a Morphe V206 Brush*. Lightly blend this shade lower into the outer corner just to add a bit more dimension.
Step 6: Now that our base eyeshadow is complete I’m using the Sephora Collection Eyeliner in the shade 52 Aloha, which is a nice red-like shade. Use this to line the upper lash line, using small little side-to-side strokes starting in the inner corner and slowly making your way towards the outer corner. As you make your way toward the outer corner gradually make the liner thicker. This way the outer corner will look most smokey, don’t worry about getting this line super perfect we’re going to be smoking this out a bit in the next step.
Step 7: With a Huda Beauty eye-sharp liner* brush (this is no longer available and a small liner brush should do), dip into the shade Aura and begin gently setting the liner and gradually smoking the line upwards a bit. Be careful not to blend up too high as we still want some definition in the liner to show, so make sure to use a light hand and little side-to-side motions.
Step 8: Very similar to step 6 and 7, line the lower lash line tight to the lash hairs with the Sephora Collection Eyeliner in shade 52 Aloha, then smoke this out with the shade Aura. I’m using a Morphe H2 brush*(no longer available) to further blend out the red shade a little bit lower so it will peek through behind one of our next couple of shades.
Step 9: Line the waterline with the Huda Beauty Long-wear eye pencil in the shade Very Vanta*, gently smoke this out with the Huda Beauty eye-sharp liner brush*. Using a bit of black eyeshadow, here I used the Patrick Ta Major Dimension III palette. Keep this higher than the red shade we previously applied; we want both shades to blend into one another. Use both the Huda Beauty eye-sharp liner brush* as well as the Morphe H2 brush* to blend the shades together.
Step 10: Draw on an inner corner wing using the Too Faced Better Than Sex liner in the shade black*, I have a whole blog post all about how I draw this on here.
Step 11: Curl the lashes using the Velour Lashes Curler*, then Apply a light coat of the Too Faced Naturally Better Than Sex Mascara*, to the upper and lower lashes. Once that is dried apply some false lashes for this look I used the Ardell Naked Lashes in the style 421*, gently press the falsies and your natural lashes together with the curler and that’s it.
Overall, this is a fairly easy Valentine’s Day eye makeup look. My best tip is to use small precise brushes to help you gain more control and be able to blend shades in small areas. I have a very similar look using brown eyeshadow and brown liner that would look awesome as well for Valentine’s Day if you’re wanting to try a brown smokey eye. This look is very glamorous and since the eyes are the star of the show I’d pair it with some glossy lips or maybe a nude lipstick and a pretty red or pink blush to the apples of your cheeks.
If you’re looking for more of a natural beauty type look, I just shared this wearable Valentine’s day look to my YouTube channel you may enjoy. It’s a very simple look and easy to recreate, and can be worn as an everyday makeup look as well. I love applying a bold classic red lip when my eyes are more on the natural side, and a red lip is so perfect for Valentine’s day!
I hope you enjoyed this Valentine’s Day Eyeshadow Makeup Tutorial, and I hope you have fun with your makeup♥️
