As I mentioned in a previous blog post I made an order recently with Sephora. I wanted to try a few new eyeshadow palettes that I’ve had my eye on recently. I’ve already reviewed 2 of them from my order so far, the ABH Fall Romance Palette and the Patrick Ta Major Dimension III Palette. For today’s palette I’m sharing the Natasha Denona I Need a Nude Palette, as well as two looks I created using the shades. If you’d like to follow along, I’ve included YouTube tutorials with step by step instructions on how to recreate both of the looks.
The Natasha Denona I Need a Nude Palette is exactly what the name states a nude eyeshadow palette, containing 15 shades with a nice variety of different textures and mattes. This a cool-toned palette with a color story made up of nude and dusty rose type shades that look flattering on a variety of skin tones. You can get a quite a few different types of looks out of this palette, everyday elegance looks as well as dramatic looks with the darker and shimmery shades.
I think these shades would be fantastic for bridal makeup artists, the tones are perfect for that classic look. Or really for anyone that loves a cool toned eyeshadow look, the palettes color story is very user friendly.
The palette retails for $69 which is on the pricey side but the quality of Natasha Denona products is always fantastic from what I’ve tried so far, I love the eyeshadows. The price per pan breaks down to about $4.60 a shade. This is one of those palettes you could reach for daily, for your everyday makeup looks if you like a cool-toned color story.
I do find this palette similar to the Natasha Denona Glam Palette, which also contains cool tones but also neutral-toned shades as well. I do think the palettes each have their own different vibe though. The I Need a Nude Palette has more pink rosy tones included, and just a lovely assortment of flattering nudes on the lighter side.
I haven’t had a chance to try every single shade in this palette just a few of the matte shades and some of the shimmer shades. The colors Delilah, Sheen, and Mia I read are a new wet effect formula with a sparkling finish. I used the color Sheen in both my looks in this post, first for my halo eye for a luminous sparkle on the center, and it does have a nice shiny effect. For look number two I used Sheen for the front half of the lid where it really pops onto of the color stone which I applied first as almost a background shade. I did apply this lightly with a brush, but for a more foiled effect use a damp brush or the tip of your finger.
Look One
For the first look I created with this palette(see top of post for tutorial) I wanted to add in a pop of teal, so I created this halo spotlight type eye, where I just went in with a little bit on the inner and center of the upper lash line. I used the shades Mesh, Tender, Sheen and Fair for the basic portion of the shading in this look. I then went in with the Pacifica Beauty Minty eyeliner across the top lash line, focusing it on the center of the eye and adding a little bit on the lower inner corner of the eye. For the outer and inner corner wings I drew these on with the Revlon But First Wine Color Stay liquid eyeliner. I let the liner dry and went in the the ABH Fall Romance palette and a flat liner brush to softly blend the transition points between the teal and the wine colored eyeliner for smooth blend. I also added this eyeshadow on the lower lash line to the outer 1/3 to add a little bit of dimension to the look. To finish off I used Pacifica Activist Volume Mascara and Velour beauty Lashes in style minimalist lashes trimmed and applied to underside of my lashes code Ashley20 for 20% off * affiliate code.
Look Two
For look two I keep it very simply and wearable, using shades Vague, Stone, Sheen, Travertine, Fair and Silhouette. Creating a shimmery stone colored look with a bold black eyeliner wing, and tight lining the eyes. I still have to play around more with the shade selection and create a darker look as both looks I created are on the softer side which I tend to wear in my daily makeup routine.
That completes today’s look be sure to check out more of the eyeshadow palette reviews under my eyeshadow tab. Let me know down below in the comment section which look out of the two was your favorite. Thank you for stopping by!
