Step-by-Step Silver Smokey Eye Tutorial

To start off, I primed my lids so everything goes on smooth and stays in place all day. For this look I just used a thin layer of concealer. Then I jumped into the Morphe Cyber Chrome Palette, which has a really pretty mix of silvers, greys, and cool tones.
I used the shade Unplugged all over the lid and buffed it into the crease with the BOM-416 brush. I used the same brush to apply it along the lower lash line and start building that soft smokey base. To soften the edges, I blended out the top edge with the BOM-430. This shade is such a great everyday gray-ish taupe and works well as a transition color.
Next, I added Giga Grey to the outer corner of the eye to deepen things up. I kept this mostly concentrated on the outer third and softly blended it into Unplugged so there weren’t any harsh lines, using the BOM-429 brush for precision and control.
Then, for a pop of shine, I used Flash Drive right in the center of the lid. I like using either a flat brush or just tapping it on with my finger to really get that metallic payoff. It gives such a pretty silver reflect. I lightly feathered out the edges with the BOM-416 brush so everything looked soft and blended.
Once the lid was complete, I moved on to liner. Using the Morphe Bi-Liner in Truth, I created a soft wing on the outer corner, keeping it slightly upward. I also added a small inner corner wing, tightlined my upper waterline, and lined the upper lash line keeping the line thinner in the inner corner and gradually thickening it toward the outer edge.
To give the liner a little bit of smokiness, I went back into the palette with the shade Private Cookies and smudged that over the liner using a flat shader brush on the upper lash line and the BOM-515 on the lower lash line. This helps soften the edges and adds that somewhat diffused, sultry look.
Before mascara, I curled my lashes and then went in with the Too Faced Foreplay Mascara Primer. This adds volume and helps your lashes hold a curl all day. Then I layered on the Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara, which is one of my favorites for my stubborn straight lashes. I have the most luck wearing waterproof mascara to hold a curl.
And that’s the finished look! A bold silver smokey eye that’s still wearable and super flattering on a variety of eye shapes.
